23rd Annual Charity FunDrive to Celebrate 75th Anniversary of NC Truck Driver Training School
Smithfield, NC – September 5, 2024 – The Mid-Atlantic Professional Truck Drivers Association (MAPTDA) will host its 23rd Annual Charity FunDrive, at Johnston Community College, while celebrating the 75th anniversary of the nation’s oldest Truck Driver Training School which is located on the College’s Smithfield campus.
This exciting charity event, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, will feature a truck driving competition with ten challenging skills tests and an optional pre-trip inspection competition. Roughly 100 drivers from across the country will showcase their expertise and compete for prizes and awards, while helping raise funds for a good cause and observing the school’s anniversary.

Members of the public and media are invited to observe the competition and celebrate the NC Truck Driver Training School’s anniversary for free. Lunch tickets can be purchased separately.
Since its inception, MAPTDA has proudly donated over $300,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
