Johnston Community College Celebrates Winter Class of 2025

SMITHFIELD, N.C. (December 17, 2025) – Johnston Community College (JCC) celebrated the achievements of its graduates during a winter commencement ceremony this week on its main campus. The College honored the dedication, perseverance, and success of students completing their academic journeys.

A total of 120 graduates participated in the ceremony, joined by family members, friends, faculty, and staff in recognition of this important milestone.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Andrea Crowley, Executive Director of the North Carolina Community College Student Success Center, whose remarks encouraged graduates to embrace lifelong learning, lead with purpose, and carry forward the resilience they demonstrated throughout their time at JCC.

During the ceremony, the College recognized graduates who completed credentials during the Fall 2025 and Summer 2025 terms, conferring 20 percent more credentials than the previous Fall and Summer terms.

Fall 2025 Credentials Awarded:

178 degrees
19 diplomas
83 certificates

Total: 280 credentials

Summer 2025 Credentials Awarded:

112 degrees
111 diplomas
43 certificates

Total: 271 credentials

“These graduates represent the promise of our community,” said JCC President Dr. Vern L. Lindquist. “We are proud of their accomplishments and confident they will make meaningful contributions to the world.”
